Gastroenterology

Gastroenterologists and hepatologists specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of digestive tract and liver diseases.

The University of Florida College of Medicine’s Gastroenterology Division is nationally and internationally renowned for patient care, clinical investigations, and research. It is consistently recognized in the top three percent of gastroenterology programs nationwide by US News and World Report for treating patients with liver disease, liver transplants, and all gastrointestinal and pancreatic diseases.

The UF Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition offers extensive inpatient and outpatient services, including a unique gastrointestinal diagnostic laboratory for specialized testing. This laboratory enables physicians to measure gastrointestinal hormones and acid output in the stomach, test pancreatic functions, and conduct breath tests for a variety of diseases. UF Health also houses a 20-bed inpatient digestive and liver disease service.
