About me
Dr. Carolyn G. Carter is a respected pediatrician with honors and awards for teaching and scholarly activity. Her research interests include nutrition and food science, technology and education, and cultural and linguistic competence. She completed undergraduate work at Florida State University and medical school, residency, and a fellowship at The University of Florida. She is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and as well as the Pediatric Board; she holds medical licenses in both Florida and Montana. Her society memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Florida Pediatric Society, the Florida Medical Association, the Alachua County Medical Society, the Academic Pediatric Association, and the Florida Pediatric Alumni Association. She regularly attends regional and national conferences, and has presented research on health literacy and technology.
She is involved in several medical organizations including the Alachua County Medical Society, having served as president in the past, the Florida Pediatric Society, for which she served as the district’s representative, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Carter also works with the medical students on their medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. In addition, she actively participates in community programs such as the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office annual Safety Patrol trip to Washington, DC. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
